Who doesn’t love a good love quote? Actually, I think a lot of people don’t because of how cheesy, naive, or plain wrong and inaccurate they can be. Since love was supposed to be at the very heart of our existence, as God IS love and created us to have that love relationship with Him and others, it’s no wonder that this area has been attacked the hardest with misconceptions, disillusions, and self-centeredness in the name of “love.” But there is such a thing as true love and it is the basis for which we live, but to know what true love is, you have to know and love God, since that’s who He is, and if we want our relationships to be healthy, they have to be rooted in Him and His love.
Obviously, the #1 way you get to know Him and His amazing love is through His Word. I’ve also discovered many quotes that I agree with because I think they fall into the scope of the love He has and that He wants for my life and for me to give. I like saving quotes that help remind me of that so I can never forget the love I’m striving to share with others as well as know when that love is present in someone, and today I wanted to share just a few of those favorites of mine. They obviously aren’t in any way substitutes for God’s Word, and while some of the quotes may not have anything to do with Him at all, I don’t believe they contradict His Word and love, which is why I’ve still kept them. I like when different perspectives can explain the same thing, and that would certainly be true of love, because whether people acknowledge it or not, it’s His love we desire so very much in our lives.

It’s challenging to find solid quotes about love more so than other topics because society has such a distorted, shallow, and narcissistic perspective on love, but I think these quotes do a great job of reminding you what true love is and what it looks like. Remember, these aren’t all revolving around a mate, either! You already have all the love in the world as His child, and that’s not at all designed to be our “last resort” when we feel like we don’t have a lot of people to love us. Rather, His love is the culmination of all the authentic glimmers of love you feel from others that reiterate how we were made for that, for Him.
