I love finding new songs to put on repeat, and listening to my favorite songs is my most favorite way to relax and unwind. Music can be so powerful and comforting. I’ve shared some of my favorite Christian and inspirational songs on the blog before, like in this post here, and today I thought I’d share ten songs I’ve been enjoying right now across my favorite genres: a mix of pop, country, dance, and of course, Christian and inspirational music. I like having different songs for various moods; sometimes I want deep and emotional tracks I can contemplate life to, and sometimes I just want to blare a pop hit while I’m driving. I hope you find some new favorite songs for your playlist, too! Be sure to let me know which ones are your faves and songs you’d add!
1. “Fix My Eyes” by Crossing
If you can fall in love at first sound, that is definitely what happened to me when this song showed up in one of my Spotify mixes. There are so many good Christian songs that are SO underrated, and this is one of them. I could so picture this in a movie of mine…a trailer…you name it; it’s that good. I have quite a handful of under-recognized Christian tracks I’ve claimed in my head for my movies. 🙂
2. “I Just Can’t” by R3HAB, Quintino
This is a short but sweet dance track I’ve been loving. It was actually in a workout video I’ve been doing, and I had to add it to my playlist afterwards. This song is perfect to listen to while working out, doing chores, or just to have fun and dance to.
3. “Break My Broken Heart” by Winona Oak
This was on another one of my workout videos, but I like the lyrics and depth to this one. It’s got more of a soothing beat, and it’s a nice spin on a heartbreak song.
4. “My Heart Is Yours” by Passion, Kristian Stanfill
I think this was another one of those songs that showed up in my Spotify daily mix, and I’m so glad it did because I am OBSESSED with it. We actually just sang this at my church not that long ago, so I was familiar with the lyrics, which are beautiful. Whoever thinks Christian songs are boring or not as good as other genres…this track would be perfect to prove that wrong. And unfortunately, I still think it’s so underrated. The melodies to this are so invigorating, giving such gorgeous life to the message. I can’t get over this song. I have both the live and radio versions saved because it’s just so good.
5. “Hallucinate” by Dua Lipa
This is your typical pop hit at the moment, but it is one of the best pop tracks I’ve heard in awhile. The mood is so electric; it’s hard not to want to jam to this song. The beat and her voice complement each other perfectly. This is another fun track I have on repeat.
6. “Stick That In Your Country Song” by Eric Church
When I heard this on the radio out driving around, I knew I was going to have to add it to my playlist. Despite its confident beat, the lyrics to this song are actually very sad and contemplative, but as someone who is more serious, I like when artists blend reality with their work. He sings about topics that really do need to be addressed, and it’s a good reminder about not just “numbing” ourselves to the issues of the world through generally upbeat and oftentimes more shallow music.
7. “Some People Do” by Old Dominion
This is a very slow, somber track, and some people may not like that, but personally I adore it, especially because I can really resonate with and appreciate the lyrics. I love soulful, heartfelt tracks that really tell an authentic story, and I feel like this song does a great job at that. And I find the melody so soothing and pretty; it’s so nice to work along to it. Also, even though it’s a sad song, there is that tinge of hope in it, and it just gives me a sense of peace when I listen to it.
8. “epiphany” by Taylor Swift
So this is another gentle, grave song, but I’m sorry, I love it. I guess I just have that part of me that craves listening to moving art that makes me think about life. It tells another powerful story, with themes centering around a soldier, which is actually a topic I’ve wanted to explore through writing for awhile. There are so many songs on folklore that give me all the feels and speak to my soul, but this is honestly probably my favorite. It’s just so unique in its heartfelt storytelling and moodiness. It’s a deep and valuable track.
9. “Staring at the Sun” by Post Malone, SZA
THIS. SONG. I have actually had this on repeat for probably months, ever since I found it. I just love everything about it: the singers’ voices, the beat and melody is perfect, and actually, the lyrics may even be my favorite part of all, which is saying something, because I really, really like just how this song SOUNDS musically. Before you look up the lyrics and come at me, I do listen to the clean version 😉 But other than that, the lyrics’ message is so profound, and for someone at my age who can be obsessed with my idea of a guy, this song really hits home. I’ve always been interested in themes like this song portrays, of being in love with our ideas of how things and life should be, and I just think this song is so good when exploring that.
10. “The Good Ones” by Gabby Barrett
Ah, it’s so hard to only pick 10 songs…I will definitely be sharing more of my long-time favorites in the future, but to conclude, I thought I’d throw on this relieving, pretty country song that always sounds good when it shows up in my queue. It paints a very refreshing picture of the guys in the world and about finding one, hence its title, and it’s just a nice, upbeat yet sincere track.
I hope you find some new songs you love!! Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo Ashlee
